Coming at the time when the country is in recession, any external funding to a business woman is applauded with a very grateful heart. Many businesses had collapsed while some were sinking in debts.  Expansion of existing businesses became impossible due to low patronage of the already existing businesses. With the increase of every item in  the market coupled with varying expenses that exceeded the income, most market women had sealed off their businesses while the few remaining ones were just being there.

According to Mr. Ndueso, Sen. Ita Enang lacks the basic knowledge of his job description w hence he had abdicated his job, but instead resort to negative criticism of Governor Udom Emmanuel. Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Media Aide, Mr. Essien Ndueso in a chat with some reporters in Uyo said Ita Enang said Senator Enang has failed in his duties to provide a perfect nexus between the Presidency and the Nigerian Senate. Ndueso expressed dismay at the reported interview in which Senator Enang was all out to discredit Governor Emmanuel even when he acknowledged that the governor had executed several projects for the masses.

The Federal Law maker in his usual manner called for a brief parley with Students leaders from his constituency. The meeting was at his residence at Shelter Afrique Saturday evening.

By Idongesit Uyo Last weekend, one of the President’s liaison officers in the National Assembly Senator Ita Enang briefed the press in his Uyo residence and wooed support of Akwa Ibomites on the premise that Buhari had produced a steller performance in the state. After going through the interview granted by Sen. Ita Enang, one scenario crossed my mind and that is what Sen. Akpan Udoedehe said about Mr. Nsima Ekere. On returning from an official trip to Abuja, Sen. Udoedehe was welcomed at the airport by his supporters. Addressing them, he said among other things that "Nsima asinwong cocaine (Nsima sniffs cocaine). What Udoedehe meant was that nobody should take His Excellency Mr. Nsima Ekere serious because he is a drug addict, therefore his actions and opinion most times are propelled by drugs.

Governor Ayo Foyese is expected to be among the 36 governors meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso rock villa. A tweet on the Presidency’s official twitter handle says the meeting is holding at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Governor Udom Emmanuel disclosed that arrangements have been concluded for the establishment of tomato processing factory in the state. He stated this while on an inspection tour of the facility. Mr. Emmanuel who made the disclosure in Uyo, while on inspection tour of food crops and vegetable green houses set up by  the State Government said the tomatoes harvested from the green houses and other parts of the state will serve as raw material for the factory. Emmanuel said  his administration was embarking on various agricultural initiatives with  a view to crashing food prices  in the state.

On an Inspection tour yesterday, the contractor handling the Ibom Super Highway, Ebla Construction Limited with it's foreign partner from China arrived Eket for the inspection tour of the project site. Leading a team of Chinese experts yesterday, the General Manager of Ebla Construction Limited, Mr Adeyomi Adedayo said that the company is ready to commence work as soon as the Ministry of Works hasten the release o f the collateral instrument (ISPO).

Mr.George Udom A frontline supporter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. George Udom has described leaders of the party in the state as the most unreliable and self-serving politicians in the country. Mr. Udom, who is known for his very vocal and critical views, stated this on his Facebook page, adding that the APC politicians are not interested in winning elections but only using their supporters to get federal appointments.

With the theme, "Shine for thy light is come...(Isa 60:1), this year's anniversary is epochal, considering that thirty years is a very significant time in God’s scheme of things. The heaven was opened for Jesus at the age of 30 during his baptism and there he also received a Divine endowment from the Father.

The decision by Justice Abdulaziz Anka of a Lagos Federal High Court on Wednesday ordered that the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans against the Nigeria Police Force will proceed. He gave the ruling while dismissing the objections of counsel to the Nigeria Police Force, Emmanuel Eze, during proceedings in Evans’ N300m suit. The judge agreed with Counsel to Evans, Olukoya Ogungbeje that service on the first and second respondents in the case had been properly effected.

Governor Udom Emmanuel within the week awarded contracts for the construction of 12 new roads construction projects across the three senatorial districts of Akwa Ibom State . Fielding reports from newsmen, the State Commissioner for Works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang disclosed that even with the shortfall in revenue, Governor Emmanuel has awarded more development projects with economic values and has also mobilised Contractors to sites.
