Sen. Ita Enang Does Not Know His Job- Essien Ndueso

According to Mr. Ndueso, Sen. Ita Enang lacks the basic knowledge of his job description w hence he had abdicated his job, but instead resort to negative criticism of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Media Aide, Mr. Essien Ndueso in a chat with some reporters in Uyo said Ita Enang said Senator Enang has failed in his duties to provide a perfect nexus between the Presidency and the Nigerian Senate.
Ndueso expressed dismay at the reported interview in which Senator Enang was all out to discredit Governor Emmanuel even when he acknowledged that the governor had executed several projects for the masses.

Briefing pressmen over the weekend, Sen. Enang had claimed that "credit should be given to the federal government and President Buhari because whatever development is seen in Akwa Ibom today is because of the allocation from the Federal government.”

Reacting, Ndueso said, “from my understanding, the duty of the senior special assistant to the president Senator Ita Enang includes providing a nexus between the President and National Assembly, but yet he comes home every time not to tell us what the president is doing but to tell us what the Governor is not doing.

He said it was unpatriotic of Ita Enang to laud the federal government even when no project has been executed in the state in the last two years by President Buhari’s administration, and urged him to use his position to attract projects to the state, in view of its position as the highest contributor to the national purse.

“If Distinguished Senator Ita Enang was doing his work in Abuja, we wouldn’t be faced with controversies like budget padding, missing budget, refusal to confirm the EFCC czar, summon of Custom boss and other such issues that portray a frosty relationship between the Presidency and the Senate.”

“Despite all the shortfall in revenue and the huge wagebill in the state, the Governor doesn't owe salaries of workers, and still executes multibillion naira projects which dot the landscape of the entire state, pays school fees for pupils and students in public schools, and also spends over N600m each year for WAEC fees for the final year students"

Speaking further, Mr Ndueso stressed that the developments in the state is due to the fact that the Governor has carved a niche for himself globally as a an efficient manager of people and resources, and his pedigree has been a catalyst for the springing up of several investments in the state.

“Recent reports by several independent business assessors have ranked Akwa Ibom as the state with the second largest number of investments in the last few months, with Lagos coming first.
According to Ndueso, "what the Governor does is to activate his contacts in London, USA and other part of the world to get investors to Akwa Ibom State to come and do business."

He concluded by saying that despite the distractions, Mr Udom Emmanuel is delivering on his campaign promises , maintaining that, despite the persistent campaigns of calumny and hate speeches orchestrated by the opposition in the state the Governor remains focused on his responsibilities.

He said Governor Emmanuel has refused to replied critics because at the end of his two terms of eight years, no one will applaud him for his ability to exchange words with negative critics and petition writers, but will only remember him as the Governor who brought several industries, enhanced the capacity of youths and boosted Agricultural development among other things in the state.

“The major players in corporate Nigeria and the global business community are not dissuaded from doing business with the Akwa Ibom government, because they are very sure that the honest and innovative Udom Emmanuel they have always known could not have changed overnight.”
