Fayose Denies Suicide Remark Over Buhari

Mr. Ayodele Fayose, the governor of Ekiti State has denied ever promising to commit suicide if President Muhammadu Buhari returns to Nigeria from his medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

President Buhari spent 103 days in his second trip to the UK for treatment of an unknown illness.

Since his return Saturday evening, the social media has been agog with claims against Governor Fayose over his purported vow to commit suicide if the president returns alive to his seat.

Members of the public have been urging the governor to live up to his word, ‘be a man and do the needful’.

In a statement released on the social media,  Mr. Lere Olayinka, denied the claim on his principal’s behalf, while he accused the ‘Buhari Media Centre’ of being the brain behind the suicide claim.

According to Him:

“Buhari Media Centre (BMC) are now circulating a statement purportedly made by Gov. Fayose.
“I will Commit Suicide If Buhari Come Back Alive.”
-Governor Ayodele Fayose.

Kindly disregard this statement as it did not emanate from Gov Fayose.

It is there (sic) usual way of shifting the people’s attention from the real question Nigerians are asking as to the whereabouts of the President.

At no time was such statement made by the governor.
